10 points do i really need learning support?

okay im in learning support. i really don’t believe i need it, here are my grades: computers 96, bio 90, american cultures 94, life skills 97, english 90 and math 97. im a good student and im shy. do you really think i need it? im only in it for math and english. i hate my english teacher. i told my mom to call and talk to my case manger. she did. my manger said we will give it a try next quarter if her grades are up. my grade was a 92 but i dropped but its not my fault because we are reading a book and she doesn’t let us take it home to study. will she still switch me out? I am pretty much going to make high honors. my parent ground me if i don’t make high honors. its not fair. i believe i can do it though.

If learning support is helping you keep your grades up I think you should stay in. Lots of bright children and gifted children get special services at school. Sometimes the only thing "wrong" with them is that they have a learning style that isn’t easily accomodated in the classroom. In the end your high grades and test scores are what people are going to care about, not that you got some support to get there.

If you don’t like one of the support teachers, I say just get through it. It’s quite possible that next year it’ll be the regular teacher you don’t like and you’ll love the support teacher, so you’ll be glad you kept this option open.

I’ve got a son doing support classes and getting excellent grades. For him it’s his best shot at getting into University and the career of his choice. Be careful with your choices.

Well everyone has a bad teacher here and there u gotta deal with it unless this is a serious problem like she’s judgeing you or putting u down on purpose just stick with it because u are still getting good grades in the class
